World Environment Day – 2022

Theme – ONLY ONE EARTH

IQAC and NSS Units I & II of Kha Manipur College, Kakching in association with Sahitya Thoupang Lup, Imphal, Sahitya Seva Samiti, Kakching, Macha Chanu, Kakching and Library and Information Centre, Kakching organised the “OBSERVANCE OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY” on the theme “ONLY ONE EARTH” with a mass tree plantation at 4 different sites in Kakching. The sites are:
i) Botanical Garden of Kha Manipur College, Kakching

ii) Kakching Wairi Panjao Pallum Hills
iii) Kakching Nungai Hills (Laipham Pana Liklai Loishang)
iv) Kakching Angan Ching Eco Park.

The programmes are started by tree plantation led by Prof. Yumnam Sunitibala Devi, Principal – Kha Manipur College, Kakching. The important dignitaries who took part in the tree plantation are:
i) Saratchand Thiyam, Sahitya Akademi Awardee
ii) Kshetri Bira, Sahitya Akademi Awardee
iii) Dr. M. Ojitkumar Singh, Associate Professor in Zoology, Ramjas College, University of Delhi
iv) M. Sanaton Singh, Retd. Principal, KMC
v) Dr. Y. Rajesh Singh, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Earth Science, M.U.
vi) Officer bearers of Associated Organisations
vii) IQAC Coordinator, KMC
viii) NSS Programme Officers
ix) All staff of the college
x) L. Dinesh Singh, Forest Range Officer, Kakching District

The college provided contributory lunch for the participating members at Kakching Angan Ching Eco Park. After the lunch, a symposium was organised at Angan Ching Eco Park with Prof Yumnam Sunitibala Devi, Principal as Moderator. The paper readers were:

ii) Dr. N. Pramodini Devi, Sr. Lecturer, Kakching Hr. Sec. School, Kakching and
